The final 10 minutes of Borussia Dortmund vs Bayer Leverkusen were as tense as they could be. After Niclas Fullkrug scored in the 81st minute to break the deadlock, it seemed as if Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten run would finally come to an end.

Bayer Leverkusen steal a point at Borussia Dortmund to maintain unbeaten run

Fans were getting emotionally ready to witness the end of Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible run, before Josip Stanisic scored and the game ended in a draw. And it was a miraculous late comeback once again from Alonso’s side, something they have grown quite accustomed to doing.

The Bundesliga champions are now 45 games unbeaten across all competitions, and have to see out four more games in the league to finish the season with no defeats. They have a DFB Pokal final against Kaiserslautern, while the Europa League semifinal will see them face Roma over two legs.
