## What Is Baththa About?

The story is set in **Madras in the late 1980s**. Baththavachalam, played by Vijay Sethupathi, is a feared local figure who commands respect through intimidation. Young Sabhari, who lives in the same neighbourhood, is terrified of him.

Then comes the twist. In an attempt to retrieve a confiscated toy, Sabhari sneaks into his school early one morning and accidentally locks a bathroom door from the outside. Baththa is trapped inside. What follows is a mix of fear, comedy and an unexpected bond between the boy and the man everyone dreads.

It’s a premise that promises both laughs and heart, which is what makes it worth the watch.
