Barcelona have numerous departures waiting to happen, and they are all necessary to raise funds for the club.

They are still quite deep in debt, and getting the wages of fringe players off the books will surely be beneficial to them down the line. The squad is currently in Germany and is training for the season which kicks off in less than 15 days from now.

The benefit of heading up north is that the climate is more favourable and allows Ronald Koeman to conduct two sessions a day. This will help the Dutchman fully convey the tactics to be followed this season, as it will be difficult to sort these things out later in the season.

Miralem Pjanic, Neto, Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite are all expected to leave the club ahead of the new season. They all have clubs across the continent interested, and once a suitable fee has been agreed with Barcelona for their contracts.

They are all aware of the fact that very few minutes will be coming their way if they don’t leave. While this is pushing Pjanic, Neto and Braithwaite to leave, Umtiti does not seem to be bothered in the least.

Zenit St Petersburg were interested in signing him earlier in the transfer window, but he snubbed the chance to make the move to Russia in favour of a better offer from a more prominent European club. He is aware that he will not earn the same salary at any other club, and this could drag into a saga for Barcelona if they don’t sort it out soon.
