Barcelona were handed their second consecutive away loss in the Champions League by Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri defeated their opponents at San Siro by a narrow 1-0 scoreline, which earned them three very important points in their European campaign.

The Spanish side were also on the losing end of several VAR decisions. Pedri thought he had scored the equaliser, but it was ruled out for handball in the buildup. Andre Onana punched the ball into Ansu Fati’s hand from point-blank range. And due to it being in an unnatural position, it was cancelled out.

After losing to Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, the Spanish side are third in their group, with three points from as many games. And as a result, they are in a tight spot in terms of securing qualification to the next round.

Inter Milan have six points, and are three ahead of Barcelona. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are comfortably at the top with nine points from three games.

Barcelona will need to win both their games against Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen in order to retain hopes of qualifying. Inter’s result against Plzen will also be an important factor in deciding the group.

Bayern Munich seem to have Barcelona’s number in recent years, and winning against their free-flowing attack will be a difficult task. Which means that the other two fixtures will decide their fate.
