Marseille have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the signing of Konrad de la Fuente this summer. The French club have completed all advanced negotiations and the deal is set to be finalised this week, as per renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
A medical assessment for the player is also set to be held this week, after which, he will be officially announced as a Marseille player. The 19-year-old plays as a left-winger for Barcelona, having come through their academy system.
He made a couple of appearances for the first team in the Champions League in 20/21, and primarily featured for their B team. After 21 appearances with the youth team, he has racked up 6 goals and 4 assists and is one of the highly rated prospects that Barcelona had in their squad this past season.
His contract with Barcelona is only until 2022, and the club have chosen to cash in on the player rather than lose him for nothing. Konrad de la Fuente made his debut for the USMNT last November, and only has one cap to his name so far.
Barcelona are also set to offload Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, also to Ligue 1. OGC Nice are set to pay the Catalonian club €8.5 million along with numerous add-ons for the player to make the deal permanent. Barcelona could also offload a big player of the likes of Philippe Coutinho or Antoine Griezmann if the right bid arrives for them.
