Barcelona’s LaLiga season begins this Saturday, 17 August with a trip to Valencia. And in what has become a yearly pattern, the club is yet to register some players with the league body ahead of the new season.
The most prominent name to be left out for the time being is Dani Olmo, who only recently joined them from RB Leipzig. He spent a lot of time in the Euros, playing a vital role in helping Spain win the tournament. As a result, it is unlikely that he will be integrated into the first team just yet.

Eric Garcia, Clement Lenglet and Ansu Fati have been registered by the club ahead of their season opener. However, Inigo Martinez, Pablo Torre, Pau Victor and Martinez remain unregistered as things stand, as per MD.
A similar dilemma occured when Jules Kounde signed for the club a few years ago. And not to forget, being unable to register new contracts is why they had to let go of Lionel Messi three years ago.
While Hansi Flick may have to cope without his full squad on the opening matchday, it is likely that the club will find a way to play the rest of their players in due course. However, with the dire financial crisis the club finds itself in, nothing can be said for certain right now.
How long is Dani Olmo’s contract?
