Barcelona want to sign Ryan Gravenberch in 2022

Barcelona are looking to complete a transfer for yet another Ajax star in June 2022. The player in question is midfielder Ryan Gravenberch who has attracted a lot of praise for his capabilities in the heart of the park.

His performances earned him a call-up to the Dutch national team, whom he represented in the Euros as well. The player is only 19 years old and has already made a name for himself in European football. He is one of the key parts of Erik Ten Hag’s Ajax team and is also starting to become important for Louis Van Gaal’s Netherlands national team.

His holding ability and eye for a good pass are his most sought-after abilities. Moreover, his physical prowess also makes him a great option for Barcelona to go ahead and recruit. Since his contract runs until June 2023, Barcelona are in a good position to get him for a decent fee.

Ajax will have to risk losing the player for free if they don’t sell him in June 2022, or they are unable to get him to sign a new contract. Gravenberch is a player that could be the long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets. While the Spaniard is in his 30s, he is still a vital part of the Barcelona squad but will need to be phased out slowly.

And as a teenager, Gravenberch can be the perfect candidate to inherit Busquets’ place in the line-up and become the backbone of the way the team plays.
