Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta could be headed to Barcelona this summer. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will be in talks with the Spanish side for the deals of both players today, and could reach an agreement for their transfer soon.

Both players have only one year remaining on their contracts with the West London side. Azpilicueta has spent close to a decade with the club, and has lifted every available trophy with them. And now, towards the end of his career, he has made his desire to return to Spain known.

Barcelona interested in two more Chelsea players

Marcos Alonso has also indicated his wish to play for Barcelona as he falls on the wrong side of 30. Both Spaniard will be joining Andreas Christensen at Camp Nou, with the Dane already presented as a new Barcelona player recently.

Chelsea have also lost Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer, and could lose more important members of their backline. As a result, if they sanction a move for their captain and their number 3, they will need to look for reinforcements in the transfer window.

While Ian Maatsen is expected to be the backup for Ben Chilwell, Azpilicueta will need replacing in the team since he played a very important role on the pitch and in the dressing room. Chelsea are being linked with Frenkie de Jong and Sergino Dest of Barcelona, who could be included as part of the deal if talks progress that way.
