Antoine Griezmann made his move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in 2019 but has failed to properly establish himself at Camp Nou.
Many suggested that after the departure of Messi to PSG, Griezmann would take up the role of Messi in the team. But, in a shocking transfer deadline day move, the Frenchman has returned to his former club Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid has now completed an agreement with Barcelona for Griezmann. The deal is of loan until June 2022 with buy option for €40m.
The Madrid based club won the La Liga title last season beating the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona. They have now further reinforced their team with the arrival of Griezmann and De Paul as Simone hopes to defend their Spanish league title as well as fight for the European crown.
