Barcelona has been accused in recent times of spending millions and instead of using their La Masia players. It seems the club have continued doing that.

This time, Barcelona has sold Anwar Mediero, an 18-year-old right-winger to Italian side Atalanta. He was signed from Celta Vigo in 2015 for their youth squad and was gradually promoted to the under-18 team.

Atalanta have signed Anwar Mediero, who is a prospect for the future. He will be immediately available to Atalanta coach, Gasperini for the first-team.

Previously when another Barcelona academy player, Carles Perez was forced out to Roma he seemed dissapointed with the club.

Perez said: “I’m only thinking about succeeding at Roma. I have four more years on my contract and I’m focused on that.”

”I didn’t understand my exit, but I respect the decision and thank the club for their treatment of me over the years.

“People talk about the academy, but sometimes they prefer to spend millions and don’t have patience with young players. That’s how it is. People have to forget my past there.”

Barcelona has done the same thing again with Anwar Mediero and it would even hurt more if he turns out to be a world-class player later on.
