The 33-year-old Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski reportedly wants to leave the German club and join the Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Since the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich from their German rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2014 summer, he has gradually taken the centre place of the team. Soon, he set up his image as one of the heroic players of the club due to his incredible consistency.

While Lewandowski is completing his eight consecutive seasons for Bayern Munich, he is the second most goal-scorer for this club in their all-time history. Only the German legend Gard Muller is ahead of this Polish striker in the all-time leading goal-scorer of the club with more than 500 goals.

In the meantime, Lewandowski has already netted 347 times in 383 appearances along with 57 assists (all the data are according to fcbayern.com till 13th May 2022). Apart from winning many prestigious awards, Lewandowski has already guided the Reds to win eight successive German Bundesliga titles, one UEFA Champions League trophy and some other memorable trophies.

In simple words, the German club has just dominated during the Polish striker’s era.

Latest contract and transfer rumours

Robert Lewandowski’s latest contract will run till the end of 2023 summer. So, there is no big urgency for any new contract. Moreover, Lewandowski will also focus on the FIFA World Cup 2022 as the all-time leading goal-scorer for Poland national football team is likely to experience his last FIFA World Cup in his career.

As Lewandowski has played in German clubs during the prime period of his career, he can face harder challenges in any other nation’s club. Moreover, some of his upset forms can ultimately build up pressure on his national team ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

However, some recent media reports are claiming that Robert Lewandowski is now considering leaving the German club. Moreover, some media reports have also claimed about his new target joining the Spanish La Liga club FC Barcelona.

Nonetheless, there is no confirmation both from the German club Bayern Munich and the Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski about this transfer rumour. There is also no confirmed information about Lewandowski’s intention to leave the German club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Can FC Barcelona go for the Polish superstar?

The second most successful Spanish La Liga club and five-time UEFA Champions League winners, FC Barcelona are currently building up a new team with a fresh dream.

Though Lewandowski has dominated in the German clubs, including in the UEFA Champions League tournaments, the Spanish La Liga can be very different for him. Also, his age can play a big factor if this deal actually happens. Not only the Polish striker, but FC Barcelona also need to put their complete interest to fulfill this deal.

Understanding the present situation, we believe that FC Barcelona are unlikely to set up a special interest for Lewandowski. Also, do not forget that the club is running on huge financial issues at the present moment.
