Barcelona are now looking for a new right-back. La Masia graduate Sergio Roberto can play in that role but Ronald Koeman is looking for more concrete options.

They were initially interested in Ajax’s Sergino Dest, but now he looks certain to join the European champions, Bayern Munich.

So, Barca have now turned their focus on Norwich’s right-back Max Aarons.

According to a report by Sport, Barcelona first contacted Norwich two weeks ago and they already have a five-year agreement with the footballer.

Norwich rejected Barcelona’s last offer on Friday of a loan without obligation to buy. But they would accept a loan with a mandatory option to buy next summer with the payment made over two seasons, or even more.

Norwich are demanding a fee of around 20 million pounds and 10 more in variables, but they are ready to negotiate a deal.

Ronald Koeman’s preference was Sergino Dest but the club has been monitoring Aarons for a long time. And would like to make him their first choice.

Last season, Aarons played 36 full league games. He played more minutes in the league than any other fullback under the age of 20 in the top fiver European leagues .

Max Aarons even has been more game time than Wan-Bissaka, Renan Lodi, Alphonso Davies or Reece James. The Norwich fullback covered more distance than Trent Alexander-Arnold along with dribbling 1.3 times per game. Another important thing is that is passing accuracy in the final third is one of the highest among the full-backs in the Premier League.

Barcelona has got a young gem in their hands, who would in all probability make it big in the football world in the coming days.
