Barcelona are planning to change their club crest for the first time in two decades. The Spanish giants are one of the biggest clubs in the world alongside their rivals, Real Madrid, and have one of the most recognisable badges in world football.
Some of the best players in the world have featured for the side, including Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Diego Maradona and Ronaldinho. And soon, we could be seeing a new look for the club.
Barcelona planning logo change in the coming seasons
The proposal for the new logos should start coming in from 2023, and the official change is expected to come through in 2024/25. The main reason behind the idea is to rebrand the club, which is entering a new era on and off the pitch.
Fans can be optimistic about the club potentially having the same colour kit, as they have worn for years. Their current sponsorship deal with Spotify will bring them a unique kit every once in a while featuring artists, as already done for Drake. Instead of a brand new identity, it could simply be an update for the historic side after all their years of domination.
Barcelona are currently at the top of the La Liga table, with 37 points from 14 games.
