Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico is on the transfer radar of Barcelona. The Argentinian left-back could be on his way to Spain, despite rumours that Napoli are also interested in him.

While Ajax want a permanent deal for the Argentinian, expected to be worth €7 million, Barcelona are interested in a loan. However, they are offering their teenage left-back Alejandro Balde on loan to Ajax to hopefully work out some form of negotiation with the Dutch club.

Nicolas Tagliafico to leave Ajax?

Tagliafico has been with Ajax since 2018, and was a part of the squad that progressed to the semifinals of the 18/19 Champions League. The Eredivisie champions have refused to listen to offers for the player in the past, despite heavy interest.

But now, with his deal expiring in 2023, they are opening up to the possibility of letting him leave. The presence of Alejandro Balde in the picture is what makes the deal more realistic for the Catalonians. They had previously targeted Luis Gaya of Valencia, but realised that it was next to impossible to sign him in January.

Nicolas Tagliafico would be happy to move to Barcelona, according to Fabrizio Romano. He only wants to join Barcelona, and would want his current club to let him go for such a big opportunity.

With the transfer deadline less than a week away, a final agreement needs to be reached soon between the two clubs for the deal to go through.
