Jules Kounde is finally set to join Barcelona after a thorough battle between them and Chelsea for the centre-back. The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that it is set to be confirmed by the clubs soon.

In what was one of the craziest transfer sagas in recent history, Chelsea and Barcelona tried immensely hard for the player. The Blues appeared to have won the race after submitting their £55 million bid to Sevilla. But, they didn’t receive any green light for the deal to go through.

Xavi was key in talks with the player personally, as he rejected a move to Stamford Bridge in order to play at Camp Nou next season. The Blaugrana’s sporting project was more convincing to him than that of Thomas Tuchel.

And despite agreeing personal terms with Chelsea over a move, the deal has been hijacked. Only the final documents remain to be signed before the deal is finally made official.

Jules Kounde will join Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha as new signings for the Culers this summer. Once the third lever has been activated, they will be able to register all their new signings for the coming season.

The Spaniards are now confident of reaching an agreement for Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea in the coming days to wrap up their business.
