The Espai Barca project has been in the pipeline for the last few years. Finally, the project is about to be started in June after the current season ends. The Espai Barca project will see many areas of the Camp Nou renovated as Joan Laporta has finally got the approval of a permit to restructure the Camp Nou by the City Council’s Governing Commission.

As per the official club statement, the renovation is set to begin in June after the current season ends. The biggest part of the renovation will be the demolition of the third tier in the summer of 2023.
In the 2023-24 season, Barcelona will play their home matches away from Camp Nou at Montjuic Olympic Stadium. They will return to Camp Nou the following season at 50% capacity. All the renovations are expected to be fully complete during the 2025-26 season.
Barcelona’s board members have already approved the €1.5 billion loan for financing the Espai Barca project.
