Barcelona definitely regret selling Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid

Luis Suarez left FC Barcelona after 6 seasons and joined Atletico Madrid last summer for €6 million. Suarez was struggling at FC Barcelona in the last few seasons. Last season he scored 21 goals in 36 appearances for FC Barcelona but much more is expected at Camp Nou from a player of Suarez’s calibre.

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman put the Uruguayan striker out of his plans. Suarez joined Atletico Madrid, and now he is probably in the best form of his life under Diego Simeone.

Luis Suarez scored a brace against Celta Vigo on Monday and took his tally to 16 goals in 17 LaLiga appearances this season. As per OptaJose, the 34-year-old has now achieved the best goalscoring start to a season in LaLiga history.

Barcelona let him leave for a mere €6 million to their direct rivals citing Suarez’s recent form and age as the reason. Suarez is proving everyone wrong as El Pistolero is officially firing again.

If Barcelona could go back in time, they would probably do everything in their power to stop Luis Suarez from joining Atletico Madrid last summer.

Imagine Suarez in his best form playing alongside Lionel Messi. Both of them already had perfect chemistry both on and off the field. Barcelona would definitely have been a force to reckon with this season instead of chasing the league leaders Atletico Madrid.

The selling of Suarez to a direct rival and most importantly for such a low transfer fee clearly indicates the mismanagement of the club under Josep Maria Bartomeu’s reign. There can be no reason to justify this move from last summer.
