Barcelona and Manchester City are £13 million apart on their valuation of Ferran Torres. The young forward has reportedly told Manchester City that he wants to leave the club. As a result, Barcelona are confident that they can reach an agreement with the Premier League champions for a lower price.

Torres is currently sidelined due to a foot injury he sustained with the Spanish national team. His last appearance for the Sky Blues was in September. This season, he scored three goals in seven appearances before sustaining the injury.

Manchester City have a number of great options in attacking areas, and Ferran Torres seems to be down the pecking order despite his talent. He made the move from boyhood club Valencia to Manchester City in 2020 for £21 million, and City want more than double that amount since he has three and a half years left on his current deal.

Barcelona are in a very difficult financial situation, and £38 million is probably all that they can afford for the player in January. Ferran Torres might be the only signing that the club can make in the winter transfer window, especially if they are unable to sell any of the other players at the club.

Ferran Torres dreams of playing for Barcelona, and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will reportedly not stand in his way if the Spaniard wants to return to La Liga. But, an appropriate financial compensation must be given in order to sign the player.
