Barcelona and Juventus fighting it over the real GOAT

Juventus hosted Barcelona for their Champions League group stage match on Wednesday. It was expected to be Ronaldo vs Messi but unfortunately, Ronaldo couldn’t make it to the matchday squad due to COVID-19.

A lot of starters were missing from the Juventus side. Gerard Pique’s absence almost went unnoticed as Barcelona managed to shut the opposition out while scoring two.

Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi scored for Barcelona but Alvaro Morata could have made the scoreline read 3-2, but his each and every goal was ruled out for offside. An awfully unlucky night for the Juventus striker.

After the match ended Barcelona tweeted: “We are glad you were able to see the 🐐 on your pitch, @juventusfcen!”

You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We'll bring you the right one at Camp Nou 🔍📖

Juventus also didn’t let go of the tweet and replied to it: “You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We’ll bring you the right one at Camp Nou.”

It was a sign that Messi and Ronaldo are still the indisputable GOATs in the footballing world despite being on the wrong side of thirty. This certainly goes on to state how phenomenal these two are!

It was fun to see the clubs battle it out on Twitter after the match. Although Barcelona won this time, it will be interesting to see how the Old Lady perform at Camp Nou.

Hopefully, we can finally see Ronaldo and Messi on the same football pitch for the first time since 2018 on 9th December as Barcelona host Juventus.
