All football activities have been suspended since March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As the footballing action was stopped on the field, the clubs focused on planning their future. There were various transfer rumours. All the clubs have been hit with the financial crisis so some of the big money moves may be postponed for the next summer.

LaLiga giants Barcelona had their eyes set on Inter striker Lautaro Martinez for quite some time now. Many thought that Barcelona would postpone the move considering the economic problems of the club due to the COVID-19 outbreak. But they have gone all out for Martinez to link him with Messi upfield.

According to a report by Sport, Barcelona has reached a five-year deal agreement with Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine is keen on a move to Camp Nou to play alongside his national team captain, Messi.

Martinez will reportedly earn €12m plus bonuses annually in his new deal with Barcelona. Personal terms have been agreed. It’s now up to the two clubs to come to an agreement regarding the transfer fee.

Inter has tagged Martinez with an €80m price tag but Barcelona want to give €60m along with two players. Although Inter is interested in Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo, they have not given the go-ahead till now. Instead, they want the full transfer amount in a bid to deny Barcelona the chance to sign Martinez.

Antonio Conte has done a wonderful job at Inter after taking on this season. He clearly has Martinez in his future plans. Martinez is one of the best strikers in world football right now. Inter would do whatever they can to keep him at San Siro.

The one thing which works in Barcelona’s favour is that Martinez wants the move to Barcelona. He is keen to play alongside some of the best players at Camp Nou. Barcelona is hoping that Inter would grant Martinez his wish after he has agreed on the personal terms and would accept their latest offer of €60m and two [unnamed] players.
