Barcelona have reached an agreement with Real Betis for the sale of Abde. The young winger was deemed surplus to requirements after the addition of Joao Felix and has now been sold to the Seville-based side to further his development.
The involvement of Betis president Ramon Planes in the deal was crucial in getting it over the line, according to Fabrizio Romano. And as part of their agreement, Barcelona have included a buyback clause which is valid two years into the deal and is valued at €20 million.
Abde signs for Real Betis on a permanent dealÂ
The La Masia graduate had an impressive loan spell in 22/23 with Osasuna where he scored six goals and assisted two in 34 games across all competitions. There was interest from a Premier League club in the Moroccan as well, with them offering €20 million for the player. But, he rejected their offer which annoyed the hierarchy at Barcelona.Â
They instead had to sell him to Real Betis and offload Eric Garcia to register Inigo Martinez who joined them as a free agent. Barca also have a sell-on clause as part of the deal, through which they are entitled to 50% of any future fee that Real Betis receive for him.Â
The youngster will be wearing the number 7 shirt for his new club, and has a contract with them until 2028. It will be interesting to see how things turn out for Abde at Real Betis and whether he will manage to return to Barcelona in the coming years.
