Barcelona have reached a mutual agreement with technical secretary Ramon Planes to terminate his deal with the club. The 54-year-old asked to leave the club, and Barcelona have allowed the technical secretary to go his own way.

Originally, he was the assistant technical secretary, having joined from Getafe in 2018.

Planes stepped up following the dismissal of Eric Abidal in 2020 and took up the lead role at Camp Nou.

Ramon Planes was responsible for bringing in players like Ronald Araujo and Pedri, who have both made a name for themselves in the first team.

He has reportedly been contacted by [Newcastle United](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/11/16/reached-an-agreement-newcastle-target-now-a-free-agent-contract-terminated/?amp), and could be recruited by the Premier League outfit, who are also undergoing a huge transition phase at the moment.
