Emraan Hashmi’s *Awarapan 2* hit theaters on August 14, and the internet wasted no time weighing in. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the sequel to the 2007 cult classic is splitting opinion — but there’s one thing almost everyone agrees on: Emraan Hashmi still owns this role.

## The Story So Far

*Awarapan 2* picks up years after the original, following Shivam Pandit as he quietly raises an abandoned girl he names Aaliyah — after his first love. When she’s kidnapped by a syndicate following her foster parents’ deaths, Shivam is pulled back into the underworld, traveling to Bangkok and infiltrating a gang led by Zorawar, whose sister Zara becomes entangled in his life.

## Should You Watch It?

The consensus is clear: go for Emraan Hashmi, stay for the nostalgia, but temper expectations on the screenplay and villain. For more Twitter reactions and reviews before you book tickets, check out [TechnoSports](https://technosports.co.in/).
