Atletico Madrid are set to complete the signing of two new full-backs this week. One of them is Reinildo Mandava, who plays on the left flank. The Lille defender did not train with the French club on Monday, and instead travelled to Madrid to finalise his transfer to the La Liga champions.

All details have been agreed between the two clubs, and the player is set to complete his medical in the coming hours or day to complete the switch.

Reinildo Mandava will be an Atletico Madrid player soon

Atletico Madrid were in the market for Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso as well, but have now settled on Reinildo Mandava. The Mozambican left-back’s contract expires in the summer, and Atleti have bought out the remainder of his deal with the transfer window open right now.

Valencia right-back Daniel Wass is also set to complete his switch to the Spanish capital very soon. Atletico are extremely close to reaching a total agreement for the player, and the transfer is expected to go through this week. Wass will be the replacement for Kieran Trippier, who left to join Newcastle United in his home country.

On the other hand, Reinildo will provide competition to Yannick Carrasco and Renan Lodi on the left-hand side to improve the defense. The two defenders are the only signings that Diego Simeone will be receiving in the January transfer window, by the looks of things.
