ATK Mohun Bagan sign Lalrinliana Hnamte from rivals SC East Bengal until 2025

ATK Mohun Bagan have reached an agreement with rivals SC East Bengal for the transfer of Lalrinliana Hnamte. The teenager will be signing a three-year deal with the Mariners, after only spending a year with the Red and Gold club. 

The 18-year-old midfielder joined East Bengal at the start of the 21/22 season, and made 17 appearances for them, playing a total of 942 minutes in the domestic league. During his time on the pitch, he only scored one goal, the equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Chennaiyin.

With the season over for SC East Bengal, Lalrinliana Hnamte will be the first signing for ATK Mohun Bagan in the off season. He will be featuring for the rival club in the next season, and will be a big part of their future in all likelihood. 

The former East Bengal number 22 initially joined the Pune City U-18 team before moving to the Hyderabad reserves until 2021. After finishing last in the league with SC East Bengal, he is now on the move to their direct rivals, with the official announcement pending from the two clubs.

ATK Mohun Bagan have qualified for the semifinals of the ISL, and will be looking to go all-out in their final game of the season against league leaders Jamshedpur FC as well. The Mariners have already assembled a strong squad, and can challenge for the title in the coming seasons as well.
