ATK Mohun Bagan have officially announced the contract renewal of Kiyan Nassiri for two more years. The player will be staying on with the Mariners until 2024 at the very least.
The youngster enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough this season, scoring a hat-trick in the Kolkata derby against SC East Bengal. The youngster was brought on from the bench in the second half, when his side were trailing 1-0. And he would go on to score three quick goals to give his side the win by the time the final whistle blew.
Kiyan Nassiri renews contract with ATK Mohun Bagan
The 21-year-old is the son of Jamshed Nassiri, an East Bengal legend, who moved to India from Iran and went on to become an iconic figure among Kolkata’s football fanatics. He would go on to become the first foreigner to score more than 100 goals in Indian football.
Much like his father, Kiyan Nassiri showcased brilliant finishing ability in his hat-trick against the Torch Bearers. But, he is yet to score in any other game in the ISL. The player is known to be very versatile across the front-line, and can also play as a full-back.
As a result, he can provide the team with much needed support when needed throughout the coming season. And if he can impress consistently, he can also be a key talent for the Indian national team in due course.
