Serie A club Atalanta have scheduled a meeting with Chelsea in London in the next 48 hours. They hope to secure a deal for Blues striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
One of the key factors behind the deal will be Inter Milan’s plans for replacing Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is all set to make the move back to Chelsea for €115 million, after agreeing on a five-year contract with the London club.Â
Inter have listed Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata as the replacement for Lukaku, since he has a similar profile and could fit into the system very well. As a result, Atalanta are also looking out for a replacement for Zapata. And Tammy Abraham is their man to lead the line should the Colombia international leave for San Siro.
Abraham has featured very sporadically for Thomas Tuchel, and doesn’t seem to be in the plans for the German. And with Lukaku on his way to the Bridge, a move to Italy could do him well in terms of playing time. Chelsea have set a price tag worth €40 million for their academy graduate, and his reluctance to sign a new deal could culminate in a transfer this summer.
West Ham United and Arsenal are also interested in signing Abraham. The Chelsea number 9 has also expressed his admiration for West Ham, suggesting that he wouldn’t mind a move to the London Stadium. But by the looks of things, La Dea lead the race for the player right now.
