ASUS’s next-gen ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 gaming laptop with Ryzen 9 6900HX & RTX 3080 Ti spotted

Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 (GX550) with Core i9-10980HK & RTX 2080 Super launched

ASUS has been on a run to make its ROG gaming laptops always top-of-the-line with flagship specs along with a premium design. It seems the Taiwanese giant won’t be stopping their great run even in 2022 as they look to adopt AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 6000H processors along with the beefy RTX 30 series GPUs from NVIDIA.

The flagship of next year – the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 laptop featuring AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU has already been leaked out by MyLaptopGuide. It seems the Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 series of gaming laptops will sport three configurations and among them the highest-end is the GX650RX.

This variant seems to feature AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 6000H mobile processors and NVIDIA’s flagship RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU, the AMD chip is the flagship Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU that will based on the 6nm based Rembrandt-H family. It will feature 8 Zen 3+ cores & 16 threads which also feature RDNA 2 iGPU.

While the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti on laptops will feature the new Ampere GA103 GPU, offering a TDP in the range of 150W and 200W. The GPU should also feature standard and Max-Q versions, featuring 58 CUs for a total of 7424 CUDA cores and a clock speed of 1395 MHz. 

The GPU could feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, most probably with 12 Gbps speeds across a 256-bit bus architecture. The DDR5 RAM support for upcoming AMD Ryzen processors is seemingly confirmed as this leaked gaming laptop will possess 16GB DDR5-4800 RAM (for this variant) but as Wccftech mentions there could be up to 48 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM.

Here the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 gaming laptop up to 8 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage (here 1 TB capacity), while the laptop also could have an option of 16-inch FHD display with a refresh rate of up to 300Hz, Windows 11 Pro. As the gaming laptop is getting leaked, we could see this ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 launch at CES 2022.
