ASUS’s new Chromebook CX9 and Flip CX5 are probably the most powerful Chromebooks

ASUS recently launched its latest pair of new Chromebooks which are powered by Intel’s Tiger Lake processors. These new laptops are the ASUS Chromebook CX9 and the Chromebook Flip CX5, and these devices are targeted towards businesses.

First coming to the Chromebook CX9 is your typical clamshell laptop and the device comes powered with Intel’s Core i7-1165G7, along with Intel Iris Xe Graphics support. The laptop is indeed very powerful as compared to other Chromebooks. The Chromebooks also comes with up to a 512GB SSD and 16GB of RAM.

The Chromebook CX9 also comes with a 14-inch panel which offers up to 4K resolution, and also the panel has an aspect ratio is 16:9. we also get a Full HD panel that covers 100% of sRGB, while the 4K variant hits 95%. in terms of brightness, the 4K panel also goes up to 550 nits of brightness, instead of the typical 400 nits on the Full HD model.

The ASUS Chromebook CX9 uses CNC-machined aluminium, and also meets the theMIL-STD-810H rating for durability. The device also touts 14 hours of battery life on the Chromebook CX9.

Coming to the other device the ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5, we get the convertible versions of the CX9. The device comes with Intel’s Core i7-1160G7, along with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. However, the display though being Full HD has no option for 4K, but can still be used on a tablet.

Both the Chromebook CX9 and Flip CX5 come with two Thunderbolt 4 ports along with USB Type-A (two ports on the CX9) and microSD card reader as well as a combo audio jack.

Coming to the prices, the ASUS Chromebook CX9 starts at $749.99 with an Intel Core i3-1115G4, 128GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM. However, the model with a Core i7-1165G7 and 512GB of SSD storage and 16GB of RAM, will be available on ASUS’ online store for $1,149.99. The Chromebook Flip CX5 isn’t available yet and it will be available at the cost of $1,049.
