ASUS Vivobook 16 with Raptor Lake launched in China as Dauntless 16 2023 laptop

ASUS has a lot of budget laptops in its arsenal that are actually affordable, powerful and good to use for everyday purposes, thanks to its Vivobook line. So, in China, they have announced a Dauntless 16 2023 laptop, a renamed ASUS Vivobook 16 with a new 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H processor at 4299 yuan which translates to Rs.51,645.

So, this will be an affordable model that could well be in the Rs.60k price bracket when launched in India and probably $599 pricing when launched globally. Let’s learn more about the specs of this laptop:

ASUS Vivobook 16 Specifications

Talking about specifications, this is a big 16-inch laptop, that reminds us of the ASUS Vivobook 16X we reviewed last time, here too you have a similar sort of design but with updated specs. Weighing about 1.8kg this is still a light laptop considering it has a 16-inch chassis.

ASUS Vivobook 16 with Core i5-13500H launched in China

The display of this ASUS Vivobook 16 supports 16-inch FHD display with up to 300 nits peak brightness, exactly same panel we saw on the predecessor. Also, you get a similar big keyboard layout and fairly large trackpad along with standard ASUS features like AI two-way voice noise reduction and 3DNR video noise reduction.

Obviously, the key highlight is this 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H processor, a 12 core chip that goes up to 4.70 GHz (P-cores), giving you the best performance while still being efficienct in normal tasks. For thermals you have a 87-blade super-large fan, and a 6+8mm double thick heat pipe and dual air outlets, similar thermals you saw last time around which should be fine to tame this processor.

In terms of ports, you have 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 interface, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1, also you can expect latest Wi-Fi 6E along with it to complete the specs sheet. However, for a budget laptop, this pricing is quite fair and is sure that whereever it gets launched, will leave an impact in the market!
