Announced back at CES 2023, ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 & 18 gaming laptops (2023) were launched and now finally is available in India. ASUS India, Republic of Gamers (ROG) today strengthened its Strix and Zephyrus lineup with the launch of the all-new ROG Strix Scar 16 & 18.
Testament to ASUS’ moto of ‘In search of Incredible’, these gaming machines are designed to deliver top-of-the-line gaming and content creation experience. After a successful global unveiling at CES 2023, the laptops are now all set to take the Indian gaming industry by storm.
Resonating to the philosophy of ‘Break all the limits’, the latest gaming lineup pushes the envelope to not only bolster one’s gaming experience but also empower you to create powerful content at the same time without breaking a sweat. The new ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 and 18 will be available for sale at the starting price of INR 2,79,990 and INR 2,79,990 respectively, both on online and offline channels.
ROG Strix Scar 16 & 18 Specifications
The design features a customisable RGB shroud on the back, a light-up RGB logo on the lid, and thinner bezels all around for a more immersive gaming experience. The bottom panel features an RGB strip for ambient lighting. A clean cut across the lid with black colour conveys a discrete and sleek look, and the same design is replicated across the keyboard too.
The newly designed Customizable Armour Caps add a pop of color to the chassis. They are smaller, yet strongly held in place with magnets. The Armour cap can also be 3D printed if one wants to customize their look. Continuing the tradition, Scar laptops come with artful Aura Sync accents to illuminate your creativity. The new 18’ display offers immersive gameplay and provides extra screen space for content creation or viewing.
Both, the metallic ROG logo on the top lid and the keyboard, feature RGB shine and the keyboard supports per-key personalization. The laptops boast powerful specs, with CPU options up to the Intel Core i9-13980HX and graphics up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. Designed for high framerates in modern titles, a 150W+25W max TGP GPU drives up to a QHD 240Hz display with Adaptive Sync.
The Strix Scar 16 weighs 2.50 kg and stands up to 3.00 kg, while the G18 is slightly thicker at 30.8 mm. Both models have USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The Core i9-13980HX is a 24-core, 32-thread CPU with a 55W base TDP and a boost speed of 5.60 GHz, while the RTX 4080 with a 175W power limit is the most powerful graphics option. AuraSync inside the Armory Crate controls all RGB lighting on the devices. The G16 has no NumPad on its keyboard, but the touchpad can function as one using ASUS’ NumberPad technology.
