ASUS has a wide portfolio of gaming laptops in 2021, and most of them are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 5000H gaming processors. Now, a new leak suggests, the Taiwanese OEM could opt for AMD RX 6000M GPUs as well on their upcoming laptop laptops.
AMD is soon set to announce its mobile RDNA 2 based Radeon RX 6000M series GPUs for gaming laptops, and the leak of an upcoming ASUS ROG G15 STRIX laptop does indeed make sense. As per a CPU-Z validation, ASUS’s new laptop will sport the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU & Radeon RX 6800M GPU combo.
As per leaks and rumors, the RX 6800M will feature a full-flat Navi 22 GPU with 2560 cores and 12GB GDDR6 memory, matching almost the specs of the newly released RX 6700 XT GPU.
The laptop’s product code G513QY did, in fact, confirm that this is an ASUS ROG STRIX G15 laptop which is already available with Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and NVIDIA RTX 30 GPUs. Videocardz has also pointed out that the G513QM variant sports RTX 3060 whereas QR sports RTX 3070 SKU, so the QY will, in fact, comes with Ryzen 9 5900HX & Radeon RX 6800M configuration.
Also, the BIOS of this laptop is reported to be fresh and was built on March 19th, also being evaluated by ASUS themselves. So, the leak and development of this new all-AMD powered gaming laptop are certainly in its early stages and that makes sense as the Red team promised availability in Q2 2021.
