ASUS has hinted that it is working on a new 18-inch ROG gaming laptop to compete with Alienware and Razer. ASUS is responding to the impending 18-inch gaming laptops from Razer and Alienware. ROG “Big guy,” as the Weibo account “Lonely City-Hardware” exhibited on their profile, is set to be formally presented by ROG during next year’s CES 2023 Launch event on January 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. PST.
The video shows off the new gaming laptop’s edge RGB lighting and a startlingly colourful and clean image. Little is known, but the new ASUS ROG 18-inch gaming laptop is said to use the Intel 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake HX processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series mobile chip.
As this new ASUS ROG 18-inch gaming laptop hint follows both Alienware and Razer announcements, 2023 could be the year of larger and more powerful laptops for gamers and enthusiasts that can compete with a full-decked PC system.
The next-generation Blade 18 laptop from Razer has already leaked, while Alienware suggested that they were looking into the 18-inch gaming laptop category and have begun to hint at their own “monstrous” design.
According to IT Home, Alienware last released an 18.4-inch gaming laptop in the previous decade, with models M18X, M18X R2, M18X R3, and others. So, about a decade ago, the final Alienware 18-inch gaming laptop offered an Intel Gen Core i-4910MQ quad-core CPU, a 512 GB and 1 TB hard drive, the NVIDIA GTX 980M series GPU, and 32 GB of dual-channel DDR3L-1600 memory.
