ASUS’s upcoming ROG Flow Z13 gaming laptop featuring AMD’s high-end Strix Halo “Ryzen AI MAX+ 395″ APU has appeared on the listings of a popular Chinese e-tailer alongside benchmark figures.
These are previous leaks, however, it has now become clear that AMD is targeting two different CPU types for Geekbench testing, namely the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 and the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 395. A non-PRO version of the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 delivers the same specs apart from the core clock speeds.

ASUS ROG Flow Z13 Gaming Laptop to Feature AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 APU
The Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 “Strix Halo” APU was featured in the ROG Flow Z13 gaming laptop (model: GZ302EA) and tested on Geekbench 6.3. In single-core performance, it earned 2894 points, while multi-core performance put it at 20708 points, outperforming the Zen 4-based AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX. However, single-core performance is on par, while the Strix Halo CPU is getting a 25-30% multi-core performance lead over the 7945HX.
The Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 is a 16-core/32-thread part, unlike the standard Strix Point “Ryzen AI 300” APUs, which never get a 16-core CPU. It has comparable single-core performance to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 thanks to the shared Zen 5 architecture and similar frequencies. One of the major highlights is iGPU performance, as the Radeon 8060S iGPU has 40 Compute Units which is a huge increase in comparison to the previous APU generation. It outperforms RX 7700S even though the RX 7700S is a power-hungry mobility chip with 32 compute units based on RDNA 3 architecture.
ASUS ROG Flow Z13 GZ302EA is a convertible laptop with a detachable keyboard and 13.4-inch 2560x1600p display. It’ll come with 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and Windows 11. Although no price or release date has been disclosed yet, the laptop will most likely be released similarly to the Strix Halo APU, around early 2025.
