ASUS launches new ROG Strix Arion S500 portable SSD

A 500 GB USB Type-C portable SSD features up to 1050 MB/s transfer speeds and an exceptional cooling design

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ROG Strix Arion S500, a portable NVMe® SSD with DRAM and USB-C® 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity for file transfers at speeds of up to 1050 MB/s. It is made up of aluminium alloy, this sleek and this easily portable drive also features a thermal pad for effective heat dissipation.

You also have security features like 256-bit AES disk and data encryption, on the other hand, the ROG SSD Dashboard software for easy drive management, and exclusive Aura Sync lighting. It also includes NTI Backup Now EZ software, making it an ideal high-performance mobile storage solution.

Unrivaled transfer speeds

Inside the ROG Strix Arion S500 is a high-performance Phison SSD that’s capable of 1050 MB/s transfer speeds, so it’s up to 12X faster than standard external HDDs. At those speeds, a 100 GB file can be transferred in just two minutes. In addition, the DRAM memory and large SLC cache maximize data performance and helps extend the lifespan of the SSD.

Exceptional Cooling

The aluminum-alloy chassis of the ROG Strix Arion S500 includes an internal thermal pad that keeps operating temperatures at an optimum level to sustain high-speed data transfers. It also helps to prolong the lifespan of the device.

Complete data protection

The ROG Strix Arion S500 uses 256-bit AES disk and data encryption to ensure data security without affecting CPU performance. Additionally, it includes NTI Backup Now EZ software to protect all digital assets from malicious virus attacks and hardware failure. The data recovery feature also helps in instances when a file is accidentally deleted.

For additional peace of mind, the user-friendly ROG SSD Dashboard interface displays all vital information such as drive temperature, storage status, health status, and more.
