Asus will be dropping its GPU Prices up to 25% by next-month

Asus has stated that their graphics card prices would be reduced by up to 25%. An official noted in an email statement earlier today that price reductions will be applied to the company’s entry-level, mid-range, and high-performance models (not just the RX 6500 XT thankfully). The MSRP reductions were attributed to duty reductions on US imports from China, according to the business.

Asus is one of the largest graphics card manufacturers, with two major GPU series (Asus and ROG) that sell both reference and bespoke AMD and Nvidia designs. It also works with Intel Arc Alchemist on desktops, laptops, and add-in cards (AiCs). The statement we received today, on the other hand, solely highlighted Nvidia GPUs. The Asus official wrote, “Lower costs will effect entry level GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 graphics cards, mid-range RTX 3070 graphics cards, and high performance RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards.”
This move by Asus is especially significant since, in 2021, the Taiwanese PC, component, and gadget manufacturer will be leading the drive in the opposite direction. It raised prices for the first time in January 2021, blaming tariffs, and then again in April, citing component pricing and demand.

Asus will be dropping its GPU Prices up to 25% by next-month

The price cuts are set to begin on April 1, but some people will see them sooner than others. Since we now know about the impending cut, buying a GPU between now and the weekend isn’t a good idea. One thing is certain: if Asus sells their products at a lower price than competitors, businesses like MSI, Gigabyte, and EVGA will be forced to respond.

Perhaps Asus’ mention of tariff adjustments isn’t the only reason for their pricing strategy change. If it’s keeping an eye on pricing patterns like we are, it might be witnessing the last chance to sell into the MSRP++ market before it collapses. We wrote earlier today on the decline in graphics card prices in the EU, which is unaffected by the US tariffs on China.
