Watford have accepted a €28 million offer from Aston Villa for the signing of Ismaila Sarr. The winger has attracted interest from Leeds United and Crystal Palace as well, but Steven Gerrard’s side have gone ahead and agreed a deal with the Hornets for his sale. He had two years remaining on his contract with Watford, and the club decided to cash in following their relegation to the Championship.

Personal terms are yet to be finalised with the player for the transfer to go through. And this is an important step, which will determine whether the player will accept the move or not.

Ismaila Sarr nearing Aston Villa transfer with transfer fee agreed

The Senegal international will want to make the national team in November, when the World Cup takes place. And for that, he will have to compete at the top level, which is the Premier League.

He was one of the most important players for Watford, even though they got relegated from the top flight last season. In three games in the Championship so far, he has already scored one and provided an assist. Ismaila Sarr will be competing with Leon Bailey for game time on the right side of the attack, if he agrees to the move.

However, he will have to first agree a contract and understand his role in the project prior to the transfer.
