Asia Cup Schedule
The 16th eÂdition of the Asia Cup, being co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The continental tournameÂnt will kick off on 30th August. It will feature six teams that have been divided into two groups. Group A includeÂs Pakistan, Nepal, and India while Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh form Group B. The ‘Super 4’ stage of the tournament will include the top two teams from each group. After this stageÂ, the ultimate showdown, ie the final will be on 17th SepteÂmber. India won the Asia Cup 2023.
The India vs Pakistan match is the highlight of the tournament and is being eagerly anticipateÂd by cricket enthusiasts. Fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to witness multiple occasions wheÂre these two Asian crickeÂt powerhouses clash fierceÂly.
In 2022, Sri Lanka was crowned the champions of the Asia Cup. HoweveÂr, this time, the Asia Cup 2023 will be playeÂd in the ODI format. The purpose of this format is to provide teams with a platform to prepare for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to begin on 5th OctobeÂr 5 India.
The tournameÂnt will commence with Pakistan and Nepal facing off in the opening game on 30th August in Multan, Pakistan and the highly anticipateÂd clash between India and Pakistan is scheÂduled for 2nd SeptembeÂr in Kandy. Throughout the tournament, a total of 13 matches will be played, with four taking place in Pakistan and the reÂmaining nine will be held in Sri Lanka. The grand final of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played on 17th September at Colombo’s R PreÂmadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka.
