Asia Cup Schedule
The 16th edition of the Asia Cup, being co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The continental tournament will kick off on 30th August. It will feature six teams that have been divided into two groups. Group A includes Pakistan, Nepal, and India while Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh form Group B. The ‘Super 4’ stage of the tournament will include the top two teams from each group. After this stage, the ultimate showdown, ie the final will be on 17th September. India won the Asia Cup 2023.
The India vs Pakistan match is the highlight of the tournament and is being eagerly anticipated by cricket enthusiasts. Fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to witness multiple occasions where these two Asian cricket powerhouses clash fiercely.
In 2022, Sri Lanka was crowned the champions of the Asia Cup. However, this time, the Asia Cup 2023 will be played in the ODI format. The purpose of this format is to provide teams with a platform to prepare for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to begin on 5th October 5 India.
The tournament will commence with Pakistan and Nepal facing off in the opening game on 30th August in Multan, Pakistan and the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for 2nd September in Kandy. Throughout the tournament, a total of 13 matches will be played, with four taking place in Pakistan and the remaining nine will be held in Sri Lanka. The grand final of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played on 17th September at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka.
