Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith then stitched a 82-run partnership for the third wicket, but Ravindra Jadeja had other plans. He got the wickets of Labuschagne, Matt Renshaw and Steve Smith in quick succession, leaving the visitors in a precarious position.

And just when it seemed like Australia was starting to get back on track, Ravichandran Ashwin struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Alex Carey and Pat Cummins, leaving Australia 7 wickets down. At tea, Australia is currently 8 down with a score of 174.
India’s debutants Suryakumar Yadav and KS Bharat will be eager to make an impact, as they look to take an early lead in the series. With a CRR of 2.9% for Australia and 67% for India, it looks like the hosts have the upper hand for now.
