Liverpool have finally found a midfielder amidst their injury crisis in Arthur Melo. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been searching for an option in the heart of the park since the injuries to Naby Keita and Thiago trimmed their options.
Juventus were keen to offload the Brazilian since he was not a part of their plans for the coming season. Moreover, his wages were also a problem for the club due to mismanagement and a bloated squad. Now, they are set to move him on with the Reds signing him on a loan deal for the 22/23 season.
Arthur Melo to join Liverpool for the coming season
The player is on his way to the UK to complete his medical for the transfer. A total agreement is in place between both the clubs for a straight loan with no buy option. Which means that he will be back in Turin at the end of the 22/23 season.
While his form in Italy has not been very impressive, he will provide a rotational option for Klopp while his side deals with injuries. It was unlikely that Arthur Melo would have had game time at Juventus, due to the arrival of Leandro Paredes.
Arthur is keen on the move, and will soon complete all the formalities needed to make the transfer official.
