Arsenal are looking to sign Arthur Melo from Juventus this summer, with a Central midfielder the top priority for Mikel Arteta. The Brazilian has emerged as one of the targets alongside Youri Tielemans and Lucas Pacqueta.

But even though the Belgian has been holding out for a move only to the Emirates, talks haven’t progressed with Leicester City for a transfer. As a result, a deal for Arthur is starting to look more likely.

Arthur to join Arsenal this summer?

Valencia are interested in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, as @DiMarzio reports. He’s one of the names in the list for Gennaro Gattuso, not easy as his salary is so high. 🇧🇷 #transfers

A return to La Liga could also be on the cards for the midfielder. Gennaro Gattuso is an admirer of the 25-year-old and wants Valencia to try to sign him this summer. This is becoming an issue in Arsenal’s pursuit of the player.

He previously featured for Barcelona in Spain, and was transferred to Juventus in a swap deal with Miralem Pjanic going the other way. However, things haven’t gone according to plan for the player in Turin. And as a result, he could be offloaded as Juventus look to trim their midfield.

A loan deal would be the most likely option for the player if he decides to join Arsenal. Talks between Arsenal and Juventus haven’t started as of yet. But, could progress in the coming weeks. Juventus are looking at PSG’s Leandro Paredes as a potential replacement for Arthur should he exit the club this summer.
