Arsenal are set to officially announce the arrival of Marquinhos from Sao Paulo. The two clubs have reached total agreement over the terms of the transfer, and will be revealing the player very soon.

The transfer fee for the move will be worth around €3.5 million, and the player will be signing a five-year contract until June 2027.

The player is very versatile across the front-line, and can play as a central striker as well as a winger. With Mikel Arteta in need of forwards next season, the arrival of the skillful dribbler will be a boost to his squad, no doubt.

Pundits across Brazil are quite baffled about the transfer fee involved in the deal. Marquinhos has a deal with Sao Paulo until 2024, and is rated at €7 million on Transfermarkt. As a result, they are expecting a transfer fee worth €10-15 million for the winger. But, he is leaving for only a fraction of that amount instead.

Alongside Marquinhos, Arsenal are also continuing the pursuit of Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. The number 9 is set to leave at the end of the season, and a reunion with former City assistant manager Arteta could be in the works considering that the player is positive about the project that his former colleague has in place at the Emirates.
