Youri Tielemans Leicester to open contract talks with Tielemans; Arsenal

Arsenal are determined to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in the summer. They are among three other clubs that are interested in signing the Belgian when the transfer window is open for business.

The player has told his current club that he will not be renewing his contract any further. As a result, he will have to be sold in the summer. Otherwise, Leicester City run the risk of losing him for free when his deal eventually runs out.

Arsenal are more than interested in Youri Tielemans as he's set to leave Leicester this summer. Gunners have opened direct contacts to explore this possibility. 🇧🇪 #AFC

One of the key drawbacks that Arsenal’s case has is the lack of Champions League football. The Foxes have failed to qualify for Europe altogether this season, and Tielemans is expecting to compete at the top level every year.

Internally, the North London club see him as a top target and want to secure his services soon. They are in direct contact with the player and his camp already, and are trying to wrap up negotiations as soon as possible. Leicester will demand a sum around €40-50 million for their player, since they are in a position where they have to sell him.

The race for Youri Tielemans is still open, and a team that can offer regular Champions League football would possibly take precedence in his books. However, nothing has been agreed between him and any other club yet and we will need to wait to find out where he will be playing next season.
