Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia is on the list for transfers at Arsenal as a potential solution to their lack of creativity going forward this season. The Gunners have also been linked with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dortmund’s Julian Brandt, but those rumours have since decreased.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio talked about the London club possibly moving for Buendia this transfer window on their Here We Go podcast on Patreon. The pair mentioned that big clubs often make a list of players to pursue because managing different options can be difficult, with negotiations between parties often challenging to complete.
Having other options makes things easier for the buyers in terms of having other options to fall back on in case one does not work out for whatever reason.
Buendia has made 19 appearances for Norwich in the Championship this season, scoring and assisting 7 for the Canaries so far. The 24-year-old primarily operates as a right winger, but can function as the central attacking midfielder in the lineup, or play through the left as well.
With the current financial situation in place, Arsenal must first sell players to recuperate funds, but currently nothing much. William Saliba is reportedly on the move to French club Nice. Kolasinac is on the move to Schalke, while Greek defender Sokratis is also out of Mikel Arteta’s plans and is reportedly on the transfer list as well.
Mesut Ozil, more prominently, is also out of the manager’s plans at the Emirates, with Fenerbahce waiting in the wings as a potential destination for the World Cup winning midfielder. Juventus are not trying to sign the player, as confirmed by Romano.
Once they sell these players, they will sign new players which could include Buendia. However, nothing concrete has been achieved between the two clubs regarding the Argentinian yet.
