The Wales international will leave Arsenal on a free when his contract expires in the summer and sign for Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
Aaron Ramsey has finally ended uncertainty about his future by agreeing a five-year, free-transfer summer move to Juventus worth around £36 million.
The midfielder completed his medical in London earlier this week, and now reports from Sky Italia and transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio have confirmed that Ramsey has signed on the dotted line for the Bianconeri and will be their player as of next season.
“Aaron Ramsey next June, done deal,” Italian journalist Fabrizioi Romano tweeted on Wednesday night. “His agent will be in Italy soon to meet Juventus director Paratici and sign the contract for next season. Here we go!”
He reportedly signed a five-year deal worth a reported £140,000 per week. It has been rumoured that Ramsey stands to pocket £7.2m per season in Italy for five years and will be Juve’s second highest earner behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, ahead of Paulo Dybala.
Ramsey joined Arsenal for £4.8m from Cardiff City. He has played 252 games for Arsenal, scoring 52 goals. He won three FA Cups with Arsenal. However, his career has been hit by injury and Arsenal decided not to renew his contract. Insted they renewed the contract of Mesut Ozil. His contract was also about to expire this summer.
But Ozil is yet to prove that Arsenal have made the right call. Controversially, many fans will be sorry to see Ramsey – a player with so much promise – leave for free.
The 28-year-old will be keen to emulate the achievements of fellow Welshman John Charles at Juventus. Charles remains a legend in Turin after spending five years with the club between 1957 and 1962, during which he won three Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia trophies.
