Odegaard spent the latter half of the 20/21 season on loan at Arsenal and was very impressive for the Gunners. He maintains a great relationship with the club, Mikel Arteta and Edu. The player also liked living in England and is now set to be a permanent member of the squad.

Real Madrid will have the “right of first refusal” for Ødegaard – they’ll be able to match future bids, but player decides as always. NO buy back clause. 🔴🇳🇴 #AFC

Arsenal are also closing on Aaron Ramsdale deal from Sheffield Utd, as per @David_Ornstein – agreement now close.

The Spanish club was initially not willing to let him go this summer since he was considered to be a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. However, with the trio of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro ahead of him, it looks unlikely that Odegaard would get enough playing time with Fede Valverde and Isco also in contention.

As a result, the young midfielder has chosen to move on from the Spanish capital. He will now apply his trade in the number 10 position at Arsenal and will be a much-needed arrival for Mikel Arteta, who has been deprived of a consistent playmaker in the team.
