In an emotional post-match moment, Slot paid a heartfelt tribute to his iconic predecessor Jurgen Klopp, whose legacy continues to shape the club’s modern era.

## Slot’s Humble Homage to a Legend

Slot wasted no time acknowledging the colossal foundations laid by Klopp. Speaking to the media, he kept his message simple yet profound: **“*It feels great. I don’t think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp*,”** Slot declared.

The new head coach underlined the importance of the culture and standards instilled under Klopp’s reign, adding, **“*The work Jurgen and Pep [Lijnders, Klopp’s assistant] did – the culture, work-rate, quality – was outstanding*.”**

Slot’s gratitude extended beyond words. He orchestrated a heartwarming moment by encouraging the Anfield faithful to sing Opus’ 1984 anthem “Live Is Life,” cleverly substituting “Arne Slot” with “Jurgen Klopp” — mirroring Klopp’s final day celebration where he had replaced his name with Slot’s in the same tune.

## A Legacy Beyond Silverware

Slot revealed how frequently he and Klopp remained in contact throughout the campaign, demonstrating a unique camaraderie between the two tacticians. **“*I am 99.9 per cent sure that if I pick up my phone there will be a message from Jurgen*,”** he shared with BBC Match of the Day.

The Dutchman continued, **“*So many moments in the season the two of us have had contact. I think he showed last season what a wonderful human being he is by introducing me. But what mattered most is the team he left behind that was able to win the trophy*.”**

Klopp’s influence was never just about tactics or silverware—it was about building a resilient, passionate team that could carry Liverpool’s torch even after his departure.

## Rising to the Occasion at Anfield

This Premier League conquest felt uniquely special for the supporters. Unlike Liverpool’s 2019/20 triumph, which was celebrated behind closed doors due to COVID-19 restrictions, Anfield was a cauldron of energy, roaring its champions on.

Slot emphasized the unbreakable spirit within the squad, even after Dominic Solanke’s shock opener for Spurs: **“*The way we arrived on the bus, everyone was thinking there is no way we were going to lose this game. Conceding first made it difficult, but they always find a way to win*,”** Slot explained.

The atmosphere at Anfield served as both a pressure cooker and a source of inspiration, pushing the players to an electrifying performance.

## Recognizing Every Contributor

In true Liverpool spirit, Slot made sure to highlight the collective effort behind this incredible achievement. **“*Incredibly proud, but not only of the players. Everyone knows what effort they’ve put in over the last few years. Everyone standing here, you [the fans] should give them a wonderful applause as well*,”** he said passionately.

Slot’s words captured the essence of Liverpool’s journey—a culmination of countless hours of hard work, emotional investment, and unwavering loyalty from players, coaches, staff, and supporters alike.

## A New Era with Roots in Greatness

As celebrations roared on into the night, Slot urged everyone to shift perspectives and focus on the Reds’ modern dominance rather than historical droughts: **“*Let’s forget that it’s the second [title] in 35 years, it’s the second in five years*.”**
