Argentina’s winning chances in the FIFA World Cup, Russia!
In the CONMEBOL qualifiers for 2018 World Cup, at a certain point of time they seemed to be missing their plane to Russia, when Messi single handedly took his nation into World Cup with a brilliant hat-trick.
One major reason for Argentina’s poor performance is their over reliance on their captain Lionel Messi.
It is no doubt that Agentina’s attack is one of the best- Messi, Aguero, Dybala, Di Maria and Higuan. Icardi’s absense is a shock. His absense would have surely added more firepower to this star studded attacking line. But Argentina lack a good mid field. Ever Banega’s injury has increased their midfield woes more. Their defence is another problem. Jorge Sampaoli will have real headache ahead of finalizing his 23 men squad with Aguero & Biglia still recovering from injuries.
Argentina will kick start 2018 World Cup against Iceland followed by Croatia & Nigeria. None of the group matches are going to be easy.
Since the most important thing in football is to score goals and win games, the presence of amazing sharpshooters in the squad means that Argentina definitely stand a chance of winning the World Cup 2018. And for Lionel Messi this World Cup is probably a now or never situation for winning a silverware for his country and become the world’s greatest player ever.
