Nico Gonzalez starred for Barcelona in their 3-2 win over Elche in La Liga, after they recovered from a two-goal deficit.

Feran Jutgla was handed his first start for Barcelona, and he repaid his manager’s trust by heading home a corner delivery from Ousmane Dembele. Three minutes later, Gavi would score his first goal for Barcelona. The midfielder received the ball in the middle of the park and slotted it into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Elche would have the upper hand during the early stages of the second half and would equalise with Barcelona in quick succession.

Nico Gonzalez would then score the winner for the home team as they earned their first win in three games. They are up to seventh place in the La Liga table now, ahead of Valencia.

Are we witnessing the future of Barcelona right now?

Barcelona’s academy is famous for producing generational talent, with the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, and Lionel Messi only some of the names.

Gavi, Nico Gonzalez, and Abde are the teenagers from the Elche game that are starting to make a strong impact on the first team.

Ansu Fati, Pedri, and Riqui Puig are among the other La Masia graduates that have made a profound impact in their early years.

With so many prolific teenagers starting to break into the team, Barcelona’s future is looking very promising. These players are from the youth system and have a strong connection to the club. With the likes of Pique, Xavi, Busquets, and Dani Alves there to mentor them, we might be seeing a very strong revival of the club in the years to come.
