Real Madrid’s new signing Arda Güler has picked up another injury only hours after Carlo Ancelotti declared him fit. According to an official statement from the club, the player has injured his left rectus femoris muscle and is expected to be out for three more weeks.
The 18-year-old signed for Los Blancos this summer from Fenerbahce for €20 million after being monitored by Barcelona for a major part of the summer. But, he picked up an injury even before he could make his debut for the club.
Arda Güler injured again only hours after Ancelotti declares him fit
“Güler has recovered well,” Ancelotti said in a news conference. “He’s lacking conditioning and minutes, that’s normal, he has to get used to the team’s play and his teammates.
“What he’s shown in the short time he’s with us is that he’s a great talent, he has extraordinary talent.”
But, his debut will likely be at the end of October or November when he is fully fit and in tune with the tactics of the rest of the team.
The Turkish youngster joins a long list of injured players at the club which consists of Vinicius Jr, Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao alongside him. Courtois and Militao picked up an ACL injury early in the season and will miss the most part of the campaign.
Arda Güler showed immense potential during his time with Fenerbahce, and is expected to be one for the future for Los Blancos. However, we will have to wait longer to get a glimpse of the youngster in the famous white shirt.
